When you meet someone through a dating app, it can be hard to know what they are really thinking. You may have exchanged lots of messages and even a few calls, and still wonder where you stand. Here are the signs worth looking for.
Body language when you meet
Meeting in person tells you things a chat never can. Do you smile at each other often? Do you both lean in, make eye contact and feel at ease? If the conversation flows and time flies, there is probably a real connection.
How often they write
Someone who is interested usually finds time to message, even if it is just to say hello. If you are always the one to start the conversation, or replies take days, their interest may be lower than yours. Keep in mind that they might also be busy, or shy.
Do they ask about you?
A person who is keen asks questions, remembers what you have told them and suggests meeting up. If you do all the asking, it may be a sign they are not as invested.
Warning signs to watch for
Be careful if someone asks for money, pushes you for personal details or declares strong feelings very quickly. These can be signs of a fake profile or a scam. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Give it time
Before drawing conclusions, give the other person the chance to explain. Everyone moves at a different pace, and a gentle, honest question often clears things up. If it is not working, you can always move on and keep looking.
